ATHEIST FAROOK MURDER - SILENCE IS CRIMINAL

Why it is criminal to remain silent about Farook's gruesome murder

The brutal killing of 31-year-old Farook, an atheist, by a handful of misguided Muslim fundamentalists is yet another attack on the Muslim community.

Tamil Nadu's Muslim community should have no shame in accepting that there are a bunch of misguided souls who have become blood thirsty monsters in the name of religion.

The religion that teaches peace and tolerance is being time and again defamed by these ill- informed mascots of hate. The Tamil Nadu Muslim community is at the receiving end yet again because of the cowardly acts by a few individuals.

There cannot be any justification for any kind of killing and violence. No matter which religion the one who is being killed and the killer belongs to.

The cycle of violence seems to be never ending. From Auditor Ramesh to Sasikumar...it just never stops. A daily wage labour and a father of two is the latest victim. The motive behind the killing frivolous, Farook was killed because he was propagating Periyar's ideology.

Whenever such incidents happen, Muslim organizations routinely condem it with a statement and the matter ends there. In my opinion, beyond the lip service, these organizations are nothing but mute spectators. Its high time that the entire community takes up responsibility. It's time to question the thoughts of such bigots and stop their actions. It's time to put an end to the atrocities committed in the name of saving or protecting Islam.

The onus is on Muslim organisations now. These were the organisations that claim to be the champions of Muslims. These organisations 'valiantly fight' when movies portray Islam in a 'bad light'.  Where are they now when their own religion is being maligned by some misguided individuals?

Let's not forget how an umbrella of Muslim organizations got together forcing the makers of Actor Vijay starrer 'Thuppaki' to drop a few scenes of what they alleged was portrayal of Muslims in bad light.
These organisations were the ones who ensured that actor Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam movie never sees the light of the day unless their demands were met. They wanted all scenes that had any reference to their religion chopped off.

These organisations do not let go of any opportunity to protest and resist when even small remarks or mild criticism is made on Islam or the Muslim community.
Where is their outrage now?

Why are we not talking about it? What is happening in Coimbatore and Melayapalayam is a matter of huge concern. By not talking about it we are not doing any good to anyone, it has to be discussed, they have to identified, isolated & such acts should be stopped. One cannot allow a few motivated organizations to run amok.

Farook's father asks 'Why was my son killed and who gave them the authority to do so? He believed in an ideology and he was propagating it. What is harmful in that?'.
Do we have any answers to give this grieving father?

What possible explanations can be given to Farook's wife, his 10-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter?

When concerns are raised about those who are jailed in connection with Coimbatore blast case & demand their release on humanitarian grounds citing the ordeal their families have gone through during these years, here is a family that has been destroyed by our own. Their dreams shattered forever and what are we going to do about it?

Isn't it our responsibility to prevent such incidents from happening? Isn't it the responsibility of the 26 Muslim umbrella organizations from Tamil Nadu to create awareness & expose evil designs of such misguided groups? When will we isolate these fundamentalist organizations?

This madness has to stop and it has to STOP NOW.

Holy Quran says 'Lakum deenukum waliya deeni' which means "To you be your religion, and to me my religion..."

In simple terms it means 'Agree to disagree'. Why is it so difficult to abide by this?

Why are we allowing blood to flow on our streets? Why is the Muslim community in denial and turning a blind eye to such atrocities? It's time to bell the cat with the help of democratic forces. It's time to act.
It's time to rise against this intolerance & it's time to break our silence and stop these killers...

It's time to #FightTheFanatics...
